With plenty of European style and contemporary flair, and the U-Boat Men's Classico Watch is not your average chronograph. The contrasting colors of its beige dial and its light brown stitched leather strap will catch the eye and create a style suitable for both causal and business wear. The watch's oversized dial boasts black Arabic and baton hour markers and two-tone hands. The dial also sports three subdials at the three, six, and twelve o'clock positions and a date window at the nine o'clock position. The dial is protected by an antireflective sapphire crystal and backed by a stainless steel case, which houses the watch's Swiss automatic movement, a feature that means this watch will never need a battery as it's powered by the movement of your arm. Though the project was ultimately scrapped, the distinctive original drawings, color samples and innovative materials were lovingly preserved for more than 60 years. In 2000, Italo Fontana, a cousin of the watchmakerΓÇÖs late founder, made a long held company dream come true with the launch of todayΓÇÖs inspired U-Boat brand.
U-Boat watches, just like their original namesake, are bold, aggressive and oversized. These timepieces embodied force and style and revealed the unique personality of the man behind the revival, Italo Fontana: ΓÇ£It took me seven years to develop and refine the U-BOAT watches. Inspired by 18th century craftsmanship and intricate made-by- hand detailing we can now produce a timepiece of rare artisanal quality that reaches to a new dimension of watch making.
